Announcing RMMFI’s Newest Program Site in the San Luis Valley!

There is untapped potential in communities large and small across Colorado. We know that entrepreneurship can be a driving force in building healthy, thriving economies. We also know that too few individuals currently have access to the resources that will help them succeed in business ownership, especially in rural parts of our state.

RMMFI is ready to fill that gap, and today we’re excited to announce a brand new program site in the San Luis Valley! Starting on May 6, we will be running Business Idea Lab in partnership with the First Southwest Community Fund and the San Luis Valley Small Business Development Center. As part of First Southwest’s Rural Women-Led Business Fund, the program will focus on serving multicultural, multilingual, and multigenerational women-led businesses.

In addition to strengthening our core systems for site expansion, we are committed to a model that prioritizes partnership with trusted local organizations. Each community has its own unique resources and needs, and we’re proud to be collaborating with the First Southwest Community Fund and the San Luis Valley SBDC to deliver programming that will be culturally relevant, asset based, and impactful.

This is a big milestone in our work to help more individuals and communities activate the possible. We’re excited to share news and stories from our first rural program site in the weeks to come!
