Step 1 - Is Business Ownership is Right for You?

Exploring Business Ownership helps you explore ideas, find your focus, and get serious about the business planning process.

  • Clarify and test the feasibility of your business concept
  • Define a start-up strategy (or a re-launch strategy)
  • Define a growth strategy for Year 1
  • Understand the personal impacts of business ownership
  • And, get familiar with RMMFI’s follow up programs

Exploring Business Ownership is always FREE & open to the public (see schedule to the right).

Step 2 - Refine Your Idea

RMMFI’s Business Development Program is open to graduates of Exploring Business Ownership and helps refine your concept to ensure it is both feasible and realistic. If you haven’t already, sign up for Exploring Business Ownership today! The Business Development Program offers:

  • Continued refinement of your idea
  • Access to workshops and guest speakers

 

Step 3 - Launch Your Business

Offered 3 times each year, the Business Launch Boot Camp is a 12 week intensive program aimed at bringing 10 committed entrepreneurs from IDEA to LAUNCH.  Each entrepreneur selected for the Boot Camp receives:

  • 8 Weeks focused on building a solid business plan
  • 4 Weeks focused on launching the business
  • 1-on-1 business coaching and mentorship
  • Access to business experts
  • Access to microloans to launch or re-launch your business (up to $2500)

Step 4 - Thrive in Your Busines

The Post Boot Camp program helps RMMFI Entrepreneurs grow and sustain their businesses through peer-based support, mentorship, access to technical experts, referrals to trusted business services, accountability support, and access to higher dollar loans.

 

Microloans

RMMFI understands that successful entrepreneurs need capital to launch and grow.  RMMFI's Business Builder loan program exists to provide microloans to RMMFI Entrepreneurs in need of financing to launch or expand their business.  RMMFI's loan program is available to graduates of the Business Launch Boot Camp.  Initial loans to Boot Camp graduates start at $2,500 or below and can increase up to $5,000 with the successful repayment of the initial loan and a demonstrated need for the increased amount.  Business Builder carry an interest rate between 8-12%, and have repayment terms of 6-24 months.

 

The Fine Print...

While RMMFI would like to serve the entire community with its entrepreneurial programming, RMMFI focuses on helping entrepreneurs who make at/below the following income levels.  RMMFI exists to help entrepreneurs thrive when they may not have the tools, resources, or support systems to do so.  If you have any questions regarding whether you qualify for RMMFI’s programs, please contact us at 720-941-5037 or training@rmmfi.org.

Although we’d love to help all businesses thrive, RMMFI cannot support any business that cannot be defined as a microenterprise* or that falls into any of the below categories:

  • Marijuana and marijuana-related businesses
  • Tobacco shops, liquor stores, or related businesses
  • Pawn shops
  • Pornography
  • Businesses deemed to be predatory or detrimental to the community

*RMMFI defines a microenterprise as a business entity with 5 or fewer employees requiring immediate capital needs of $15,000 or less.
